Clea at smALL AGES shares some thoughts on the great Carole King/Maurice Sendak collaboration Really Rosie, including some tracks for you to sample. Great, great songs...have a listen. I love Pierre, the story of boy who learns to care after being swallowed by a lion.
There once was a boy named Pierre
Who only would say, "I don't care".
I imagine if Sendak wrote this story 30 years later (it was released in 1962), it would have been entitled Trevor, and his mantra would have been "yeah, whatever."
How very neat to find other blogs talking about this great collection of music from Carole King/Maurice Sendak! I recently wrote about two songs from this cd in my June Kids Music article. Each month I will feature/suggest a mixture of adult and childrens music, along with events, books, trips, and tips for parents who try to raise healthy, happy, and interesting young people.
This is an excellent site - keep up the great work. Getting kids interested in music and books at a young age is a tremendously valuable and important endeavor. Thanks for your work!
