When planning classes for my toddlers, I always ask myelf, "Where's the discovery?" I want my classes to have as much wonder and fascination as possible, because once you've triggered that curiosity in the child, you're golden. Sometimes that means tweaking a fairly standard learning activity to give it some magic, and sometimes that involves tweaking a magical activity to give it more of an educational bent.
Making shadows on the wall is a magical activity where, like blowing bubbles, you seemingly make something out of nothing. And it can be adapted for use with kids of all ages. Check out this great collection of hand shadows !
