Staying on the theme of big people music that young ones can enjoy, check out the San Fransisco Chronicle's always interesting baby blog, The Poop, for more suggestions on rock music your kids will like.
I'll throw a few more songs into the conversation (no Beatles...too obvious)...
Two of Us - Aimee Mann and Michael Penn
Unwritten - Natasha Bedingfield (catchy guitar loop)
Driving on Nine - The Breeders
Flowers and Moonchild - Cibo Matto
Accidentally in Love - Counting Crows (does this count? It's on the Shrek 2 soundtrack)
I'll stop there because I'm realizing I could get carried away...of course there are a TON of adult songs even very young ones will love. What do you recommend?
So Happy Together - The Turtles
I used to LOVE this song when I was a kid. (It makes me cringe now though) The melody is so distinct, I think thats what did it.

My girls (ages nearly 2 and nearly 4) both love Stevie Wonder's "Sir Duke". It's so fun musically and rhythmically. They also really like Led Zeppelin's "D'yer Maker". Very easy to sing along with the "Oh oh oh oh oh ohhhh" part.

Also... "Walking on the Moon" by the Police and "Rock Lobster" by the B-52s. Ah, there's so many, really...
